for in the very temple of delight
they say soft sadness pays rev’rent homage
wilst my mind’s halls remain devoid of light
though Melancholy tendeth Joy in rhyme
Yet I have ne’r gained entrance to her shrine

entranced ever by reveries of pain
in stasis held, by agonia captive
now malcontent to kneel at beauty’s fane
for loveliness to me no longer lives
on unknown paths clouded as darken’d glass
meander i alone through ceaseless days
on shores of the wide world, although so vast
no pleasures i perceived with veiléd gaze
aloud i begged relief from cognizance
wherein naught but oiziac strife abides
but nature’s deaf to agonized lament
vain howling stirreth not the eunoch’d sky
no succor awaits those whom life’s enslaved
until life’s carcass rots in putrid grave

black wells of sickness did my spirit steal
weak hope calléd to seek a shred of worth

powerless to turn ‘gainst constant hurt
in vain to blindly grasp at pleasures fay
to misery hath all travailings led
’tis true, new pains await at every turn
only a fool would rise from ennui’s bed
thus lie entombed, for all the world, a worm
when failure’s count exceeds sands in the sea
and victories hath ever prov’d empty

often i long that i may cease to be
trapp’d in a mind that melancholy shaped
as one glutted by proserpinal seed
the weight of darkness cannot be escaped
for when sometime i find a trace of light
yet still some nyctian thought within me burns
and soon quixotic comfort fades from sight
inevitably hopelessness returns
and when that melancholic fit shall fall
sudden from heaven, like a weeping cloud
i shall not flee from pain’s stygían pall
but sink deep, deep into her deathly shroud
though respite brief may come of pretty lies
the truth of suffering ever survives

Primordial Desecration

Not everyone will enjoy the grimly impersonal and (dare I say) coldly clinical feel of Bmokatak's sound, but for reasons I'm not sure I want to dwell upon for too long for, it really works for me. The buzz-saw guitar work, the machine-precision percussion and gravelly-throated roars create an unmistakable emotional atmosphere.
